Philadelphia Union have signed French midfielder Vincent Nogueira from Sochaux. The 26-year-old will join the team pending reception of his US P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate.

Nogueira's transfer was announced on Sochaux's website and confirmed by the Union later in the day. He will occupy an international roster spot.
Why it matters for Philadelphia Union
Nogueira is the third major midfield addition of the offseason for Philadelphia, joining Argentine Designated Player Cristian Maidana and returning US international and fellow DP Maurice Edu. He brings a lot of quality to the club individually and can be an important piece for the club going forward, according to Union manager John Hackworth.

Nogueira will join the Union in Florida for their next phase of the 2014 preseason. He will be presented to the fans prior to Saturday's game against Nantes to say his goodbyes before heading to Philadelphia.
